Runway & Approach Information

Data for standard approach and flight planning only.
Please refer to the actual approach chart for inflight operation and operation with ALS out!

Preferential Runway System:

  • Preferential Direction: RWY 23L/R
  • Preferential Runway: RWY 05R/23L

High Intensity Runway Operations (HIRO) in use!

  • Use of runways: Take-offs are usually conducted on the southern runway (RWY 05R/23L); landings on the northern runway if available, otherwise on the southern runway.
  • Parallel use of runways: If meteorological conditions permit, take-offs and landings may be conducted on both runways at the same time. If required, ATC will provide visual separation between dapertures and missed approaches as quickly as possible.
  • Special requests: If RWY 05L/23R is used for arrivals or departures, deviating requests for using RWY 05R/25L should only be made if this is required for safety reasons. Shortening taxi time on ground is not considered a compelling reason. Entering RWY 23L with a 270°-RT should only be requested if the take-off distance from L1 is not sufficient.
  • Vacating the runway: Landing aircraft are to vacate as fast as possible and should cross CAT I holding position and stop in front of CAT II/III holding position.
  • Readiness for departure at the runway: ATC assumes that pilots are ready to taxi onto the departure runway upon reaching the holding position and are ready to commence the take-off run immediately after receiving take-off clearance. Pilots who are not ready for take-off upon reaching the runway shall immediately inform ATC about this.
